o   Primer Pocket Depth & Crystal Shape Tips

o   Flatback vs. Pointed Back Stones

o   The depth of the primer pocket dictates which style of crystal you should recommend.

o   "Flatback" Rhinestones: These are the most common choice for bullet jewelry.

o   When to use: Use flatbacks when the primer pocket is shallow (most modern casings). The flat base adheres securely to the bottom of the casing using a strong adhesive, ensuring the top of the stone sits flush or slightly raised for the best look.

o   Recommendation: Specify "Hotfix" flatbacks (even if using glue, the foil backing is better quality) or "No Hotfix" quality rhinestones.

o   "Pointed Back" Stones (Chaton’s): These are less common for bullet casings unless the specific design allows for them.

o   When to use: Only use pointed backs if the design involves a deeper bezel setting that can fully encapsulate the sides of the stone and provide enough depth for the point to rest without pressure. They are not suitable for simply gluing into a standard, shallow primer pocket as they won't sit securely.

Best Adhesives for Metal-to-Glass Bonds o E6000 Jewelry & Bead Glue:

o   Pros: This is the industry standard for a reason. It creates an incredibly strong, somewhat flexible, permanent bond that resists heat and water once cured. It's affordable and widely available.

o   Cons: It emits strong fumes, so you must emphasize using it in a well-ventilated area. It has a longer cure time (24-72 hours).

 o GS Hypo Cement:

o   Pros: Comes with a fine-point applicator, which is perfect for precision work inside a tiny primer pocket, minimizing mess. Dries clear.

o   Cons: Slightly less bond strength than E6000 for large applications, but excellent for this specific use case.

o   Epoxy (2-Part):

o Pros: Provides the strongest possible, permanent, rigid bond.

o   Cons: Requires mixing two parts precisely and has a short working time before it starts to harden. This is more advanced for batch work.

o   Primer Pocket Depth Tips: Advice on when to use "Flatback" vs. "Pointed Back" stones and which adhesives (like E6000 Jewelry Glue) work best for metal-to-glass bonds. o
